Article Title:Gasoline Import Budget Bill in Majlis Soon Date:1386/05/12 Body: TEHRAN – Rapporteur of Majlis Energy Commission announced that a bill related to allocation of needed budget to gasoline imports will be discussed on the Majlis floor in the near future.
Seyed Emad Hosseini told Petroenergy Information Network that a large part of 2.5 billion dollars that had been appropriated by the Budget Act of the current year to gasoline imports has been spent in the first quarter of the year and before rationing went into force.
“According to an announcement by Management and Planning Organization, the government is preparing a bill on needed budget for gasoline imports and it will be soon forwarded to the parliament,” he said.
The MP noted that the different between domestic gasoline production of 42 million liters and its consumption, which stands at 60 million liters, should be imported and the government should ask Majlis for 18 billion liters as daily fuel imports.
He also stated that during a meeting between members of Majlis Energy Commission and managing director of National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, the MPs proposed that the government should increase gasoline quota for ordinary cars to monthly ceiling of 120 liters.
